GPP was founded in 1974 by Dr. Bernd Eichenauer and Johannes Reh as an independent software vendor and system integrator.

At a time when computer software was heavily dependent on the underlying hardware, the two founders decided to develop platform-independent and portable software. What followed were real time programming languages, test systems, CASE tools, operating systems and portable software products like PEARL, ATLAS, PORTOS, and EPOS.

With the advent of GSM mobile telephony, GPP shifted its focus to telecommunication technology, while expanding at the same time in the area of traffic telematics. Not before long, inreasing activities in systems engineering and product sales lead to the formation of independent companies.

Today, the Group specialises in a variety of high tech products and services from relay and switching technologies for mobile communications to quality assurance, project control, telematics, process simulation, healt management software and IT-security.

In 2001, GPP GmbH assumed the legal form of an AG, to acknowledge the signs and business requirements of the time.
